Qualified competent crew. I'm looking for some more crewing experience on weekends from Brighton or Shoreham as I want to build up to Day Skipper.

I've been a SYC member for 20 years and sailed the ARC in Nov-12.

I've participated in the Royal Escape before, mostly with David Skinner on Moonlight Saunter.

I'm looking for a boat (SYC or Brighton) and will do as much or as little as required. Will pay my way. Happy to be just quiet ballast or active crew on Nav, Galley, Foredeck, Helm, etc

Rallies at Sussex Yacht Club / Brighton Rally 2015
« Last post by Harnold on April 20, 2015, 03:08:12 PM »
This yearís Brighton Rally will be on the weekend of 16th and 17th May. The rally will start on Saturday morning with the Talla Hina race to Brighton and the detailed race information can be found in the Sailing Handbook. After the race we will moor on the visitor berth at Brighton Marina and have dinner (See below for menu choices) at Brighton Yacht Club at 7.30pm. Sunday will see SYCís annual charity day and this year we will host a new charity, The Young Carers, who are young people who spend their lives caring for sick relatives. This day gives them an opportunity to relax and enjoy what we all see as a normal day out on the water. However, in order to allow this to take place, we need volunteer boats and crew to take them out. They will arrive at Brighton Marina at approximately 10.00am on Sunday when they can meet everyone, familiarise themselves with the boat before going out for a sail/ cruise and enjoy the display by the RNLI. All boats that volunteer will receive a free mooring in Brighton Marina on the Saturday evening. If you would like to participate please email me your boat name, along with the crew names and menu choices for dinner on Saturday evening to ukhazel@yahoo.co.uk BY NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 8TH MAY.

Brighton Yacht Club Menu Choices are;

Mains (£8)
Goulash & rice
Fish pie & vegs
Vegetarian Moussaka
Steak and Ale Pie (£2 supplement)

Dessert (£3)
Apple Crumble with cream/custard

Rallies at Sussex Yacht Club / Solent Rally 2015
« Last post by Harnold on April 20, 2015, 03:07:27 PM »
The sun has come out just in time for the start of the 2015 rally season which kicks off with the popular Solent Rally on Friday 1st May to Monday 4th May, closely followed by the Club Nautique rally and dinner at Sussex Yacht Club on Friday 15th May and then the Talla Hina Race, Brighton Rally and Young Carers Charity day on the weekend of 16th & 17th May.

This year the Solent Rally will include a race down to the forts at Portsmouth (See race handbook for further race details), followed by Friday night at Haslar marina and dinner at the Castle Inn.  A leisurely start on Saturday morning will allow enough time for a spot of shopping at Gun Wharf or time to nurse those hangovers from Friday night! From Haslar we will sail to Cowes where will moor at the Royal London Yacht Club upriver pontoon and have a BBQ (£20.25 per head inc. dessert) at their club house on Saturday evening. On Sunday we will sail from Cowes to Chichester harbour where we will spend the night at Itchenor and eat at the Ship Inn (£17.95 per head for two courses). The rally will return at leisure to Shoreham on Monday 4th April.

If you would like to come along to the Solent Rally, please let me know your boat name, along with the names of each of your crew, whether they will join for dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday or only part of the rally and their menu choices for the Ship Inn. Please also let me know if your crew has any special dietary requirements and need an alternative to the BBQ menu listed below. Please send me all information by NO LATER THAN MONDAY 27th April to ukhazel@yahoo.co.uk.

Hi,
We've just joined the club and would like to learn to sail.
One of us recently qualified in day skipper theory but we both need to build up our sea miles.
If you would like some moveable ballast, please give us a call on 07703764009
Thanks

Sadie & Steve

We, Revive, a Prima 38 are a positive competitive offshore crew.
We race out of Brighton Marina every week, all year round.
We have completed Fastnet 2011 and 2013 and are looking forward to be competing in 2015
Finished Cowes Week 2014 as 8th out of 28th
Our Crew list is a bit thin at the moment, so if you think you have what it takes gives us a try.
