Anyone know if there will be special locking arrangements for the Sussex Regatta, or just 09:00 lock?
Here's hoping for some normal summer weather; Saturday was great but did anyone brave Sunday at Btn?

Steve

Great blog as always!

Thank you for your thoughts about us hanging around between races! It must be great to have pasties between races but i dont think we could have eaten them with the smiles on our faces planted there from teh downwind legs!

To hear you tell of the jousting and fun (slightly harsh).  Almost want to come home, but hey! If I do, can I sail with you?  No pressure.  Brilliant blog, Steve.  Love to all.  Jane.

Steve. As you know I am not on House Committee who organise the Club`s Social Events but I am still a Director with a brief from the electorate to look after our "traditional values".
By tradition we have been running a Club Summer Party for as long as I can remember. This year the date was set to co-incide with our own Summer Regatta. The Band was booked & Catering negotiated. At 17 per head I am told we required some 90 paying to break even.I can sense the yawns-so whats my point?
After the Easter problems the Combined Committee agreed that to re-schedule to run with our own event was not the perfect, but best solution.
Yes we could have cancelled the Band-gone for bangers & mash-hired some equipment and ruin our own sort of Disco at much lower prices. This would have pleased some but it would not have been a Summer Party to others.
Steve I also went home early having "raced"-albeit only one-with a lad for crew who was new to me and the boat being determined to support the organisers.
By the way what happened to the hotly debated and also "re-scheduled" Royal Escape Auction? Some of us were waiting once again to support an organiser.Yes Steve me despite my stated views.
So hows about putting up for Main Committee this coming October? I would certainly sign your application ?
